Hi, I'm Lucy, the creator of Conscious Cravings bakery!

My hopes with this venture is to help out those who found themselves in the same position I was, sick and tired of paying for foods that were just packed with nutrient void filler products. Leaving me frustrated with this system that drives incentives to maximise profit at the expense of the people you are meant to care about as a company. This website was made with people in mind, not profit, because I am sick and tired of watching this world descend into madness over a currency that can only work if we all pretend it inherently has value! So with the ever-rising food prices these last few years, I've found that baking really is the only way to get around the above issues. It makes foods that would otherwise be too expensive accessible again. Take for example my Peanut Butter Fudge, it takes less than 15 minutes to make, costs less than £1 per batch of 10, and is 50% peanut butter, so arguably much healthier than your traditional fudge! We often get ripped off for empty foods that leave us feeling more hungry than before we started eating.  So from one person to the next, I'm going to be revealing as many recipes, alongside tips, tricks and industry secrets, that I can. After all, it's times like these we have to band together as a community and build one another up!

Budget Friendly Recipes

By opting for Aldi's price-matched items or selecting larger packs, you can confidently take on any recipe. This method keeps your ingredient costs affordable, making it ideal for my savvy shoppers out there.

Whether you're preparing a tray of protein flapjacks or baking a tasty loaf of Spiced Sweet Potato Bread, you can cook assuredly, knowing you’re sticking to your budget and won't be breaking the bank looking for something that's both Nutritious and Delicious! :)

Plant Based

You may have noticed by now that all my recipes seem to be naturally plant based, and although I choose to exclude animal products from my kitchen due to ethical reasons, feel free to use whatever ingredients you have on hand. There is no shame in doing what works best for you, I'm not here to judge, i'm just to try spread a little more positivity into this world.

And if you do try any of these recipes, I'd love to hear your feedback!!!

Where we started

Can we really blame anyone for wanting an excuse to eat cake for breakfast? As long as it works and harms no one, why not?

That cake on the right marked a major milestone in the baking journey. It’s a sugar-free banana bread baked in an air fryer, topped with a fresh, sugar-free strawberry buttercream—made especially for a diabetic colleague. Switching from baking for hospitality coworkers to an office crowd meant traditional recipes needed a creative twist, and the more I made, the more i couldn't go back to your regular pre-made products. Truely, nothing compares to a fresh batch of homemade goods!
